this set of brooches epitomises Ann's integral link with Modernism and the Bauhaus Basic programme which she learnt in the 1950s and taught. The geometric shapes interrupted by blast of colour and organic forms.

oxidised silver and inlaid gold in the style of a celtic cloak pin. Inspired by the travelling scholarship from the Royal Academy Ann won whilst at the Royal College of Art in London. This one took them to Ireland and the National Museum in Dublin where she was particularly inspired by the Bronze and Iron Age jewellery, Torks and Pins.

Influenced by Japanese sword making techniques reticulated and oxidised silver with gold laid on.
